Golf Genius Launches New Digital Playbook

New edition of Golf Genius' flagship digital playbook connects six forms of golf participation, launching a year-long programme of research, insights and best practices for National Governing Bodies, PGAs, Tours and clubs worldwide.

London, 5th August, 2026 – Golf Genius, the world's leading provider of software for golf associations, tours, clubs and facilities, today launched the 3rd Edition of its Digital Playbook, Connecting the Golf Ecosystem, alongside a joint 12-month programme with ION 54 that will run through to The Open Championship at St Andrews next year.

Developed for National Governing Bodies, PGAs, Tours, clubs and other organisations across the game, the Digital Playbook sets out how golf organisations can drive measurable participation and commercial growth by connecting every layer of the golfer journey, from beginner golf through to elite championships, into a single digital infrastructure.

“The true opportunity for the game lies in connectivity: the ability to link every player, every round and every data point into a unified digital infrastructure,” said Chris Kallmeyer, CEO at Golf Genius. "The Third Edition of the Digital Playbook, and the series we are launching alongside it, is our most comprehensive roadmap yet for achieving that vision. It reflects the evolving ways golfers engage with the game and provides organisations with the insights they need to connect every stage of the golfer journey, make more informed decisions and create better experiences through meaningful data."

At the heart of the Playbook are six connected forms of participation: Beginner, Off-Course, Community & Social, Clubs, Practice & Improvement and Elite. Rather than treating these as a single, linear pathway, the Third Edition illustrates how golfers move between these, both on and off the course, often following different journeys and engaging with multiple initiatives simultaneously. Through its product ecosystem Golf Genius connects all six, helping associations empower clubs, connect golfers, measure participation, strengthen communities and drive commercial growth across the whole game.

This work is grounded in Golf Genius' experience supporting more than 11,000 clients and 20+ national federations in over 60 countries, connecting players, coaches, clubs and governing bodies around a shared digital ecosystem.

The launch of the 3rd Edition also marks the start of a 12-month programme of reports, research, webinars and insight, developed in partnership with ION 54 and other leading golf organisations and running through to The Open Championship at St Andrews. The series will include:

The programme will be hosted in the Digital Playbook and across a dedicated Microsite, giving federations, PGAs and Tours a permanent home to access research and insight as it is released.
